Bella Bay occupies the 4th floor of Galeries Lafayette, on Avenue Jean-Medecin, with a plunging view over Place Massena. On Sundays, the house offers an all-you-can-eat buffet brunch, generous and varied. A rare spot, high up and right in the centre.

The buffet mixes savoury and sweet: eggs, bacon, sausages, a salad bar, cheeses, charcuterie, gravlax salmon, then pancakes, fruit salad, homemade granola, banana bread and pastries. A hot drink and a fresh juice come with the set. Booking advised.

The Sunday buffet is judged full and varied: crudites, hummus, tomato-mozzarella, hot dishes, eggs and bacon, viennoiseries, pancakes and homemade cakes such as the carrot cake. The Sunday musicians, a singer-guitarist, come and play on request at each table, a much-appreciated moment. Service is attentive and smiling, the chef passes through the room, and value for money is judged good for the region.

Areas for improvement: Outside brunch, the tea-room drinks are felt expensive, one guest citing €11 for two cappuccinos. A few reviews report disappointing smoothies or desserts given the standing. Table management can feel rigid, one guest having been asked to move.

Overall impression: A Sunday brunch up high, to choose for the view over Massena, the generous buffet and the musical atmosphere. Best for the brunch rather than for a simple drinks break.
