Inaugurated in 1916, Galeries Lafayette Nice Masséna is far more than a department store: it is a commercial monument of the city, embedded in its landscape for over a century. The ochre-red facade with its blue shutters and Turinese arcades is itself part of Place Masséna's architectural heritage. Inside, 13,000 m² spread across 6 levels house nearly 600 brands in one of the most comprehensive shopping journeys on the Côte d'Azur.
The recent renovation has affirmed the store's premium positioning. On the ground floor, the Luxury Space offers exclusive Nice access to Saint Laurent, Gucci, Balenciaga, Bottega Veneta and Chloé — an assembly of designers unavailable elsewhere in the city. This is also where Nice's only Chloé leather goods-shoes-accessories boutique outside Paris can be found.
The fashion floors cover a complete spectrum: womenswear, menswear, childrenswear, emerging designers, streetwear, sport, lingerie, accessories, watchmaking-jewellery, beauty and cosmetics. The 3rd floor is particularly popular for its menswear collections with brands including Palm Angels, Jacquemus, Off White and Stone Island. Each season brings brand rotations and new arrivals.
A lunch break at La Table restaurant on the 4th floor offers a breathtaking view over Place Masséna and the distant Mediterranean. A coffee or light lunch in this panoramic setting is an experience that justifies the visit alone.
Tax refund available for non-EU visitors (Tax Refund box at level 0). Personal shopper by appointment. Click & collect. Loyalty card. Couture alterations. Extended hours Monday to Saturday 9:30am–8pm, Sunday 11am–8pm.

Highlights: International visitors — particularly from Asia, the US and the Gulf — cite Galeries Lafayette Nice as one of France's finest department store addresses outside Paris, especially for the ground-floor Luxury Space. The view from La Table on the 4th floor is regularly mentioned as a pleasant surprise. The ease of the grouped Tax Refund is very well received. The breadth of 600 brands satisfies all buyer profiles.
Areas for improvement: Footfall can be very high in peak season and checkout queues are sometimes long on Saturdays. Some visitors find navigation between floors unintuitive on a first visit. Nearby parking remains difficult.
Overall: Galeries Lafayette Nice is an unmissable stop for any serious shopping visitor. The only place in Nice where you can go from Gucci on the ground floor to lingerie, cosmetics and ready-to-wear in a single visit — with a sea view as a bonus.
