Hôtel West End Nice

The Hotel West End is a landmark of the Promenade des Anglais. Built in 1842, it was the very first hotel built on the seafront, long before Nice became French. Behind its majestic, listed Belle Epoque facade, this 4-star hotel hides 121 rooms, most with a panoramic view of the Baie des Anges. It belongs to the 3A Hotels group and holds the Clef Verte eco-label.

The ground floor has kept its old-world atmosphere, with its plush lounges. The restaurant Le Siecle, a Parisian-style luxury brasserie, serves French and Mediterranean cuisine and hosts opera evenings. Breakfast is taken at La Palmeraie, overlooking the Promenade. Across from the hotel, guests get preferential-rate access to a partner private beach, the Blue Beach.

Good to know

The sea is right opposite: cross the Promenade and you are on the beach. The Old Town is a 20-minute walk, the airport about ten minutes by car.

Areas for improvement: The restaurant is judged pricey, and its busy decor, in red tones, can look dated. The breakfast room is small for some. A few rooms could use a refresh, and works or scaffolding have disrupted some stays.
